Sleepover
After the boys’ last day of school, the day has finally come! We are traveling to Japan for a vacation with our friends, Dylan and his family. His parents brought sushi to our house and we played cards well into the night and the kids played together too. We invited them to come over, spend the night at our house, and then we’d take off together for the airport in a van.
It would be an awesome start to the vacation! At least that’s the plan, but the boys had a little contest to see who can stay up the latest and they ended up staying up the night. Unsurprisingly, in the morning, we had to get up early to get to the airport in time for our international flight. And guess who weren’t able to really function?
Can’t really blame them because it is very exciting to have a friend sleep over. On top of that, we were heading to Japan for a Pokemon expedition!
We flew into Narita airport after a 13 hour flight. The flight was long, but the kids were able to get some sleep on the plane. Next, we got on the bullet train from Narita to Tokyo. Even with the bullet train, it took another 2 hours. Then we had to take a subway from Tokyo to Shinjuku to our hotel.
Our room was tiny!
After we settled, we walked out of the hotel and looked for some dinner. We ended up at a restaurant that was primarily a barbecue place, but it had great udon. Kids said it was the best tasting udon they ever had.
